When The Day Is Over

After spending a weekend with friends and having many conversations and much listening to Derek and the Dominoes, it suddenly hit me. To the question, "Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?" the follow up to the answer is "Don't hold your breath!".  This is an anti-blues song about the up side of being alone. Dedicated to Marinochka. A very rough version, as the band had only listened to a demo once before we attempted this. I tried to end it about 3 times but the band kept on playing...

When The Day Is Over

You know that I’ve had a bad exposure
To someone who’s lost their composure
I’m not blaming them now, you see
I know it’s really, all about me

Just leave me alone, when the day is over
Just send me home, when the day is over
Don’t even bother to phone, when the day is over
Just leave me alone….

I really like spending time with you hun
Sometimes I think you could really be the one
But when all is finally said and done
I know that I’m gonna be the first to run

Just leave me alone, when the day is over
Just send me home, when the day is over
Don’t even bother to phone, when the day is over
Just leave me alone….

I know you’ve got a lot to offer
I just don’t think I’m worth your bother
While this may sound kind of hollow
There’s this one rule you should try and follow

Just leave me alone, when the day is over
Just send me home, when the day is over
Don’t even bother to phone, when the day is over
Just leave me alone….
